MFR 64: Two Words Runners Love to Say, “I’m In”

two-words-new.jpg

Runners do a lot of talking. Maybe it’s one of the reason running relaxes us. People need to talk; they need to just socialize, away from electronic devices and screens. Exercising our mouths while we exercise our bodies may be part of the overall health benefit of running. In fact, I’m sure it is. Anyway, that leads me to the topic of this podcast. Maybe because I’m a word nerd, aka, ex-English teacher with a degree in journalism and a penchant for writing; I notice words, specifically, the effect of words, the power they have to produce particular sensations.

Imagine this: You are in a place where you don’t expect to see a loved one, maybe a grocery store, and you round the corner and there is your mom. Imagine what your heart feels. Even if you saw your mom the day before, your heart would still feel warm and happy, most likely. Words can bring on sudden feeling in the same way as a surprising sight. The two short words that are the topic of this podcast are not fancy words, not long words, not unusual words, but oh the power they make me feel. I’m wondering if they have the same impact on you. I’m betting they do.

I believe words, just words, even two relatively small words can make you feel something magical. Listen and find out.
