MFR 156: The Challenge of Holiday Running and the December Mojo for Running Challenge

December tests every runner’s mettle like no other, as holiday events steal running hours, from already hectic schedules. As we get busier, stress levels increase, meaning we need run therapy more than ever, but ironically, that’s the last thing on many people’s minds.

In this episode Deb recommends a compromise between running the normal mileage typical of the other months, and just not running at all, the attitude of “Oh, well, I’ll just stop worrying about my running and start over in the new year.”

Deb explains why that’s a terrible idea, why it’s too extreme a reaction. She offers advice for a more sensible and beneficial mindset, and she invites all listeners to join her challenge for the month of December, 2021, the Mojo for Running December Challenge.
