MFR 121: Three Key changes to Help You Run Faster

By Debbie Voiles

Most runners want to get faster. Not everyone can afford to hire a coach, and not everyone has time to train for a marathon, but most runners hope to set new PR’s on a regular basis. This is absolutely possible, but you need to know how to direct your time. Most people have full-time jobs. You probably do, or you’re a full-time parent. Your time is limited; so, you need to know the best most efficient way to spend your running training time.

In this episode, I explain three things that virtually every runner at every level can do to run faster.

MFR 107: Reality Check, or a More Objective Perspective on the Miles You Run

MFR 53: Dear Race Director

By Debbie Voiles

53 Race DirectorsWhether you’ve run in ten races or 50, you probably have had some amazing race experiences,  but, for every great race experience, I imagine you’ve had one that you could have done without, a race when something got screwed up, like the timing, the race course, the post race food, the shirts or – in some disastrous cases – all of the above.

Runners actually do quite a lot of complaining among themselves at some races. I think we all realize that putting on a road race is a huge task, and doing it right, getting everything right, is near impossible. Still, some things are critical, essential. This podcast provides you, the listeners, with a voice to express what you like and what you don’t like, the problems you’ve experienced and your suggestions for solutions, the things you’d like to see, and the ones you hope to never experience again. I think race directors would like to know what runners would like them to know. Hence, this podcast.
