Every year I challenge Mojo for Running listeners with a unique agenda of either distances or number of races or both. In 2013, I encouraged you to run 13 half marathons, 13 x 13.1 in 2013. That year the emphasis was on endurance, of course. In 2014, the challenge was to do twelve 5k races to switch it up and focus on speed.
In 2015, I challenge you to run six 5k races because I want you to maintain that fast edge, but you’ll also need to complete six half marathons, giving you an opportunity to find out how that speed can improve your longer events.
If you’re ‘in,’ go to the Mojo for Running Facebook page and just post “I’m in for the 2015 Running Challenge.”
You are on the honor system.
At the end of the year, I’ll have magnets and stickers of the graphic below printed, which you’ll be able to order through this site.
The rules:
Only races count, no training runs or virtual races
Only 5k races and half marathons count, no 5 milers, and a 10k doesn’t count
A marathon does not count
If you do a sprint triathlon and the run portion is 5k, that does count.
Both trail races and road races count.
