Every runner of every level needs to know the answer to this question: What should the per mile pace difference be between hard runs and easy runs?
How would you answer that question? This is critical because running at a pace that is too fast or too slow, at any given time, will affect your training. Many people do virtually all of their running at a given speed. While this will, eventually, make them faster, if they do enough miles, it’s certainly not as effective as a clearcut schedule that has them running at different paces for different purposes throughout their training week.
Runners who understand the hard/easy principle, will run slower on their easy days, but exactly how much slower? Ansering that question is the topic of this episode.
Your pace per mile will have a major impact on your improvement as a runner.
In this episode, I provide insight into speed for and in different running situations.
